The approach

Background

Flying Cow Stables Equestrian facility sits on 16 acres with 45 stalls, in Wellington, Florida.

About the installation

Before the CapillaryFlow system was installed, it was very important to the farm owner to not install an irrigation system that was heavily computer based because that kind of system easily breaks in thunderstorms, and we get a lot of them in Wellington.

In our other ring, the surface is uneven and has a lot of dry spots because of the top watering. It is hard to keep the surface evenly moist throughout the arena and it’s hard for the horses to ride in that ring.

"What I love the most about the CapillaryFlow ring is that the footing is always even and moist, it has not changed at all since they put it in. I really like that the footing is always consistent. The time spent on maintenance is so much less.

We have a lot of older Grand Prix horses here at the farm and they have all been doing very well since they started to go on the Capillary Flow arena.

My horses really like the footing. They go very well on it, and they come very quick off the ground on the CapillaryFlow arena. They have been very healthy since I started riding them on the CapillaryFlow arena as compared to the other ring that has sprinkler irrigation."
